How Pinky Promise Ceremonies Works
1. You Say Hello
You pop an enquiry through the website (or slide into my inbox) and tell me a bit about you, your plans, and the kind of ceremony you’re dreaming of. No pressure, no hard sell — just a hello.
2. I Get Back to You
I’ll reply as soon as possible to let you know if I’m available for your date and answer any initial questions. If it feels like a good fit, we’ll book in a chat.
3. We Have a Proper Chat
This is where the magic starts ✨
We’ll meet (in person or on Zoom) for a relaxed, friendly chat about:Your story
Your vibe
What you don’t want as much as what you do
Think coffee, laughs, and zero awkwardness.
4. You Book Me In
If you’re feeling the love, you secure your date with a booking fee and signed agreement. From that moment on, I’m officially your celebrant — pinky promise made 🤞
5. I Start Writing Your Ceremony
I create a completely bespoke ceremony script, written just for you.
No templates. No copy-and-paste. Just your words, your story, your promise.6. We Fine-Tune It Together
You’ll get to review the ceremony and tweak anything you like. Want more humour? Less mush? A surprise moment? We’ll shape it until it feels so you.
7. Final Details & Calm Vibes
As the day gets closer, I’ll check in, confirm timings, and make sure everything feels calm, organised, and under control — so you don’t have to worry about a thing.
8. Ceremony Day 💖
I arrive early, keep things flowing, set the tone, and deliver your ceremony with warmth, confidence, and heart.
You just show up, be present, and promise your promises.9. You Go Off & Celebrate
You’re married (or renewed, or committed, or wildly in love) — and off you go to celebrate, cry, laugh, dance, or drink tequila…x

An independent wedding celebrant is someone who creates and delivers fully personalised wedding ceremonies — written completely from scratch and centred around you.
Unlike set scripts or rigid formats, I work with you to tell your love story your way, using your words, your vibe, and your values. Romantic, funny, relaxed, meaningful, modern — whatever feels right for you.
In short: no templates, no rules, no awkward bits. Just you two and your promise.

Because your ceremony shouldn’t feel like a tick-box exercise. It should feel like the heart of your day.
Choosing a celebrant means:
Your ceremony is totally personal
You can include your story, your humour, your people
You’re free to choose any location, any style
Your vows can be emotional, funny, unconventional — or all three
No time pressure, no restrictions, no stuffy formalities
It’s your moment. A celebrant lets you make it meaningful, memorable, and unmistakably yours.

Great question — and one that confuses a lot of couples.
A registrar:
Follows a set legal script
Has limited flexibility
Focuses on the legal formalities
Usually leads a short, standardised ceremony
A celebrant:
Writes a bespoke ceremony just for you
Tells your story in a way that feels natural and heartfelt
Allows total freedom with wording, structure, and tone
Can include readings, rituals, humour, personal touches
Focuses on connection and experience, not paperwork
Many couples choose to do the legal bit separately, then have a celebrant-led ceremony that actually feels like their wedding.
-
In England and Wales, celebrant-led ceremonies are not legally binding on their own.
Most couples simply:
Do the legal paperwork separately (quick and simple)
Then enjoy a celebrant ceremony that’s completely personal and meaningful
Honestly? Many couples say their celebrant ceremony is the one that truly feels like their wedding day.
-
Couples who:
Want something modern, relaxed, and fun
Don’t want stiff traditions unless they choose them
Love laughter, emotion, and authenticity
Want guests saying “That ceremony was SO them”
Big weddings, small weddings, elopements, festival vibes, unconventional love stories — all welcome 💕
